My name is Jim Van Scoyk. I began flying in 1976 when I built my first airplane at age 14. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Arizona in 1994 to take a dream job, teaching Army students to fly the Hunter UAV. Unfortunately that lasted just 3 years though it was great exposure to a very rigid flying discipline.
I’ve flown just about all types of models within my grasp. I primarily enjoy flying the more traditional sport models and I also fly helicopters. Lately I have gotten more interested in scale models and hope to have some new projects to work on. I truly enjoy building and enjoy helping others get started in the hobby. I have been flying with JR products since 1986. I feel very fortunate to be associated with a great product and a great team.
